The
catalogue essay that accompanied the show Made in California - Art,
Image, and Identity, 1900-2000 at the Los Angles County Museum of Art
incorrectly states the Ron Davis was a part of the Venice, California
group of artists and mostly identified with the Ferus Gallery, Los
Angeles, that came to the fore in the 60s. In fact, Davis moved from
San Francisco to Pasadena in 1965, lived and worked in downtown Los
Angeles 1966-72, and Malibu from 1972 until 1991. Davis had seven one-man
shows with the Nicholas Wilder Gallery/group.
